Carlos Lopez has some quick results/thoughts on DGUSA’s second night in Phoenix, which was also the taping for their next PPV. Also, a correction.
So, it was Genki Horiguchi all along. Sorry to the internets for the mistake. Here’s the quick results from tonight:
Bonus Match:
8 man tag – Cutlers/Chimera/Malachi Jackson v Irish Airborne/Prophet/Derek Neikerk. Cutlers win with a double piledriver.
Pre-show:
TJP beats Brad Allen by single leg submission.
Jigsaw & Mike Quackenbush beat Young Bucks. Young Bucks put Chikara guys over afterward and get a good ovation.
PPV taping:
Shingo beat Genki Horiguchi (not KAGETORA) with lariat.
Jimmy Jacobs comes out for a match. Teddy Hart interrupts, says he’s injured and asks Jimmy to take his place in the tag match. Paul London and Brian Kendrick come out. Jimmy challenges them to loser leaves town match. Kendrick accepts, then they jump Hart. Jack Evans comes out and we get the match going.
Jacobs and Evans beat London and Kendrick. Kendrick beaten via submission and must leave DGUSA.
Tommy Dreamer comes out to a good ovation, puts over DGUSA wrestlers.
Jon Moxley pins Dreamer. YAMATO and Shingo interfere on Moxley’s behalf during the match. Moxley wins with DDT.
YAMATO beats Susumu Yokosuka to retain the Open The Dream Gate Title. Good match, but crowd wasn’t that into the submission-heavy match.
World-1 (BxB Hulk, Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino) beats Warriors (Dragon Kid, Gamma, CIMA) in a 6 man tag. Yoshino makes GAMMA tap with a sol naciente. Awesome match, best of the weekend that I saw.
Afterward, Yoshino challenges Hulk to a title match in Toronto. Hulk accepts.
