Pelle Primeau defeated John Kermon (accompanied by Sly Stetson) in a dark match.
The main show opened with a promo involving Jim Cornette, Austin Aries, and Tyler Black. Black demanded another title shot after their 60-minute draw at Final Battle, but Aries claimed that as champion, he doesn’t have to beat Black. Cornette set a re-match for the 8th Anniversary show and declared that there would be three judges to determine a winner if the match went to a draw. Each of the three men would get to pick one judge, and they later announced that Kenny King, Roderick Strong, and Cornette himself would be the judges.
1) The Briscoes defeated Cheech & Cloudy. Brian didn’t specify, but I’m sure this was a non-title match.
There was a pull-apart brawl between the American Wolves and the Dark City Fight Club.
2) Rasche Brown defeated Bobby Shields. Prince Nana was at ringside scouting the match.
3) Kenny King defeated El Generico. Good match which King won with the Coronation to retain his Pick Six ranking.
4) Sara Del Rey defeated Portia Perez
5) Delirious defeated Rhett Titus
6) Colt Cabana defeated Sonjay Dutt
Prince Nana and Shane Hagadorn cut a promo about the re-united Kings of Wrestling. Eddie Kingston came out and confronted them about getting jumped. Nana said it was the rest of the Embassy, who then came out and attacked him again. Necro Butcher made the save.
Intermission
7) Tyler Black defeated Roderick Strong. Good TV main event with Black winning via superkick to leap-frog Strong in the Pick Six standings. Aries was at ringside to distract Black during the match. He attacked Black after the match and Strong made the save, but then there was some dissension between Black and Strong.
8 ) Necro Butcher & Eddie Kingston defeated Joey Ryan & Erick Stevens by count-out. Most of the match was fought out of the ring.
They shot a TV show opening.
9) Steve Corino & Kevin Steen defeated “Sugarfoot” Alex Payne & Bobby Dempsey.
10) Dark City Fight Club defeated the Bravado Brothers.
11) The Young Bucks defeated the American Wolves. The Briscoes announced before the match that the winner would receive a title shot on Saturday night. Matt Jackson reversed a DR Driver and pinned Davey Richards to end the best match of the night.

- Briscoes vs. Up in Smoke was definitely non-title, ending when Jay gave Cloudy his military press-into-death valley driver. The Briscoes were interviewed by Kyle Durden after the match about winning the Tag Team Titles for a sixth time and the Kings of Wrestling, but then the Wolves came out demanding a rematch. Then the DCFC came out, by-passing the the Wolves to get into the Briscoes’ faces in the ring. Wolves didn’t take kindly to this and butted heads with them, leading to refs and students to separate all three teams before they could come to blows.
- Portia Perez wasn’t so Freakin’ Awesome tonight, losing to Del Rey via piledriver. Delirious beat old rival in love Titus with his rarely-seen Bizarro Driver (resulting in an ending almost out of nowhere), and there was some brief interplay between Titus and Daizee Haze as well, with Haze suckering Titus toward her, only to get scared by Delirious in a silly spot. Cabana beat Dutt with the Colt 45 in a match that could have been better.
- Black vs. Strong was very good for the most part, with Aries’ antics kind of stealing the show. He came out early with a bucket of popcorn and an alcoholic beverage (possibly Bacardi) and took a seat in the aisle, occasionally throwing popcorn at Black. Black sent him packing with a superkick and the match continued. Finish was preceded by Aries coming out again – his shirt stained – and getting on the apron, only to get knocked off again when Black inadvertently shoved Strong into him. This, along with Strong getting bloodied a little, led to some dissension between the babyfaces. Keep in mind that Strong is Black’s handpicked judge for the 8th Anniversary (which Strong agreed to because he’d get the first shot at Black’s title if he won), and the two will team up tomorrow against Aries & Kenny King.
- Speaking of the judges stip, I heard quite a few groans from it. Some people preferred to see a cage match.
- Not sure whether it happened tonight or some other night, but Eddie Kingston was missing a tooth.
- Corino & Steen (clean shaven and hair cut) vs. Payne & Dempsey was a little more competitive than you’d think, with Dempsey holding his own well, but Sugarfoot kept getting killed. He ate the Package Piledriver and then the Sharpshooter (per Corino’s direction to Steen) to end it.
- Wolves-Bucks II was perhaps every bit as good as their previous match, even with the end kind of obvious to those who pay attention to announced matches. There were a load of little kids rallying behind the Bucks, and the Wolves and especially Hagadorn played into them very well. Closing minutes here were really hot.
- Pretty damn packed tonight, and a few people brought streamers for a lot of the guys. Bucks and Wolves got a lot of them. Only really noticeable trash-throwing was at the Wolves as they stuck around in the ring a little following their loss.
- Met Jim Cornette tonight! Told him how big a fan I was and that his rant on TNA this past week was worth it for the entertainment value. Him and his wife came off as cool, and they acknowledged Hogan and Bubba the Love Sponge’s reaction to it. Bought an autographed 8×10. Also, ROH DVDs were $15 instead of the usual $20.
