International Bureau Chief Rik Finch is on the scene in Toronto for Night 2 of DBD VII weekend and sending in live results. He says that Guinness’ fattest man is in the house. I’m not sure if this is a verified fact or merely conjecture, but either way, I hope he took a photo.

1) Super Smash Brothers defeated Kevin Steen & El Generico. Very fun 20-minute opener. There were two “This is awesome” chants, the second of which may have been deserved. The crowd also chanted “You beat Bowser” at one of the Smash Bros. They did some comedy spots with the ref.

It’s a good crowd. Nigel McGuinness is off the show due to injury.

2) Frankie the Mobster defeated Bison Smith by disqualification. Frankie used the ref as a human shield, and Bison chopped him to get DQed. “Bison’s head is bigger than the solar system.”

3) Davey Richards won the First Annual Toronto Gauntlet Jerry Lynn eliminated D’Lo Brown and then Sonjay Dutt. Jimmy Rave entered to a lot of toilet paper and eliminated Lynn. Necro Butcher was the next entrant, and he lost to Rave via countout, then he tore up the ringside area. Richards entered last and scored the win. Note that this is almost EXACTLY what I predicted on BS With Honor #52 last week.

Ric Flair cut his promo and talked about history. He said that Canadian women can “go”.

4) Claudio Castagnoli defeated Brent Albright in the European Rules Match. Claudio won with a handful of tights. Rave distracted Albright to the indifference of the crowd.

Intermission

5) Tyler Black defeated Tyson Dux. Dux subbed in for McGuinness. Tyler won with God’s Last Gift. Good match for its length.

6) Colt Cabana defeated Joey Ryan “Colt works the crowd, has the ref change the match to no rules so Ryan can use weapons. [?] Comedy. Stalling. Ring bell comedy. “This is awesome” chant. Ripped out chest hair. Colt hits Ryan with trash bags. Crowd chants “Garbage strike”. [There's a garbage workers strike going on in Toronto.] Chair shot. Pin by Colt. Very fun. Crowd loves it.”

Austin Aries cuts a promo and calls out Kenny Omega. Kenny King & Rhett Titus come out and attack Omega. The Briscoes made the save for Omega, leading to…

7) Kenny Omega and Jay & Mark Briscoe defeated Austin Aries, Kenny King & Rhett Titus Omega took a long beat-down and the Briscoes eventually got in, leading to great, chaotic action which the crowd loved. They chanted “ROH” and “This is awesome”. Eventually Aries took control and dominated Omega, but pulled him up from a pin for more punishment. Omega scored a quick roll-up for the win. Great match. Omega celebrated with a Canadian flag along with the Briscoes.

8 ) Chris Hero defeated Lance Storm. Good mat work and a deliberate pace early on. Things picked up and there was a “Let’s get serious” chant for Storm. He got Hero in the Maple Leaf, but Hero reached the ropes. Storm hit a second rope powerslam. Hero got the mildly surprising win in a flat finish.
