Join Brian Streleckis and I for our day-of-release battle on UFC Undisputed for PS3 as he slips on the gloves of Matt Hughes and I take on arch-rival Matt Serra. As they do battle in the virtual octagon, we give our commentary on the fight as well as early thoughts on the game and the real fight coming up this Saturday.

Though it would have benefited from an accompanying YouTube video of the fight, this was lots of fun. I’m actually glad to see the scoring on the game is more sane than that of the State Athletic Commissions. We need more 10-10 and 10-8 liberal scoring rounds. Steve, why were you so shocked by the score of the first when you told us it was incredibly even in the audio? I thought it was really fitting that it was a draw. How can we have a dominant member of the BSWH team!? It would throw all the audios off:) But you go ahead and rematch after a month of practice. Thanks guys.

We actually had another fight after this off the air, but were still on the line with each other. The rematch option kept us in the welterweight division, so we went with some lower guys in Anthony Johnson (Steve) and Marcus Davis (me). The result? A 2nd round knockout by yours truly with the very Cena-like Irish Hand Grenade.
Next time, I’ll take out the camera for it.

Like I said, this was the first time I had ever seen a fight go to decision, and since 10-10s just never happen, I wasn’t expecting it (and especially wasn’t expecting it from all three judges…given that they’re obviously all controlled by the computer, I wonder if the judges will ever differ from one another). But it was definitely fair.

I completely agree about the Buffer spin. My heart sank when I realized it wasn’t in.
The biggest disappointment for me is the absurdly bad video quality in the classic fights mode. I dont know how a PS3 or Xbox360 game dares to have the same video quality as a FMV from an early PSOne game. I thought I was playing WWF Warzone for a second.
I like the game, though.
