Match # 17: Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan (Nitro 1/29/96)
One formula meets the other. The babyface Hogan formula match is melded with the heel Flair formula. Flair gives and Hogan takes. Your enjoyment, and mine, is probably going to be based on how you feel about those styles of matches, and if you can live [...]
Match # 16: Dean Malenko vs. Brian Pillman (Nitro 1/22/96)
A future Horseman meets a current Horseman. Malenko, not far removed from his ECW days with Eddie G., takes on a fully Loose Cannon in Pillman. In fact, Pillman was only a half a month or so away from showing up at the ECW Arena himself.
Match # 15: Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage (Nitro 1/22/96)
Flair is out again with Jimmy Hart as his manager. I’m apathetic. This is coming the night before a Clash of the Champions. We’re in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace. This is pre-MGM Grand. Miss Elizabeth and Woman (RIP to both, sadly) have switched affiliations to [...]
Match # 14: Ric Flair vs. Sting (Nitro 1/15/96)
We’ve already seen this twice on Nitro in the four months, so we’ll see if they do anything different or stick with the ten minute Flair heel formula match. Last time Flair got beat clean with the Scorpion Death Lock. This was prime Bischoff makes Flair put [...]
Tensions mount, stables explode, and a major partnership was announced at Chikara’s latest Philadelphia outing post-King of Trios.
A new year of DVD reviews begins as we tackle Full Circle. Locals on parade, Danielson-Jacobs II, and Tyler Black’s (non-) shot at the champ. In honor of (title) change we can believe in, even if it never happens, we present the Change Meter, featuring Gabe Sapolsky’s would-be “Obama of ROH”.

Report by Steve Kriske & Brian Streleckis
After watching every show from the past year and going over the best of what they saw in audio format, Brian and Steve go into a little more detail on their personal picks in each category, thanks to the written word. Once again, reading is beneficial.
5.29.04 Samoa Joe vs Chris Hero (IWA-MS)
Super fan Rob Naylor has extolled the virtues of this match and it’s fun, and after much thought and due process, who am I to doubt El Dandy (or Rob Naylor).
Match # 13: Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage (Nitro 12/25/95)
These two put together one of my favorite all time Wrestlemania matches in 1992. This was both guys just passed their prime, but both guys still had so much talent and effort to give that you know it’s gonna be decent. This match is for the [...]
Match # 12: Ric Flair vs. Eddie Guerrero (Nitro 12/18/95)
Very cool mix of old school NWA and Lucha/super juniors. These guys can work anyone. Flair gets in his Stylin’ and profilin’ at the bell, so I’m a happy man. He’s noticeably bigger than Guerrero, much like Sting was against Malenko earlier in the set.
Brian’s out of Lockdown and ROH is back in from the cold, so it’s time for re-caps of last weekend’s shows in Montreal and the Toronto area. We’ve also got plenty to look forward to in this busy month, with previews of Dayton and Chicago Ridge, and beyond with Larry Sweeney’s status and Gabe [...]
Match # 11: Eddie Guerrero vs. Mr. JL (Nitro 12/11/95)
There are times when these two miscommunication in this match, and you could hold it against them, but then you’d have to think about how difficult it is to hit all these spots they perform moment to moment with little communication. Guerrero is just awesome, and [...]
Match # 10: Sting and Lex Luger vs. Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman (Nitro 11/27/95)
Horseman vs the WCW foundation dream team. Alright with me. Pillman and Anderson are great, and Sting works up or down to the level of opponent. Only Luger makes me nervous here, but he’s been known to put together better than [...]
HHH vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Umaga (Elimination Chamber) (No Way Out 2/17/08)
I’m usually not a fan of Elim. Chambers. MFP (My Friend Paul) and I got the first Chamber on PPV in ’02. I thought the structure was limiting, produced bad bumps, possible injuries, and wasn’t my [...]
Match # 9: Bull Nakano/Akira Hokuto vs. Mayumi Ozaki/Cutie Suzuki (Nitro 11/27/95)
A Japanese woman’s tag match on NITRO. Pretty damn cool to see Nakano and Hokuto in a serious match in America. This match is so much snugger and tighter than most of the main event and semi-main event male matches of its time. Only [...]
Randy Orton vs. John Cena (No Way Out 2/17/08)
This is more of a match of entertainers than it is a pro wrestling performance, though it’s certainly that too. Both guys are immensely good at the having and showing presence, as well as intangibles like facial expression, when to play to a crowd, the pacing and [...]

Match # 8: Hulk Hogan vs. Sting (Nitro 11/20/95)
Hogan is wearing black here and teasing a heel turn, but the fans are booing him pretty bad at this point anyway. This was a precursor to his NWO days. He sneaks up behind Sting early, but doesn’t jump him. I guess that shows he’s a good [...]
