Just an unbelievable disk of matches with a lot of variety. Once again Jerry Lawler is put in a position to have great matches and he delivers. Most of the top half of matches from this disk will find their way into my top 10 and 20 ballot. The Ware vs Flair match is a lost gem for both men, and Ware definitely has that revelation figure stature on this set in the way Butch Reed, the Guerreros, and Mr. Olympia were for Mid South. I had real trouble placing the Lawler vs Martel match, but in the end I loved it enough to jump ahead of more Dundee/Lawler goodness. Perhaps it’s a case of variety, as I’m in love with the first LLT match, the second was great but not as good, and the third fell off a bit for me. In the meantime there is so much other good stuff on here that I can’t clog it with only Lawler Dundee, and Lawler is getting on the list with everyone else anyway while Dundee isn’t.
Also wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Freebirds on here, but there was just to much great stuff for it to finish anywhere but middle of the pack.
Also should be mention that while Dundee and Lawler ruled the disk, another of their tag matches together flopped for me overall. I just find that odd, though I’m sure there are many tags that we have no video evidence of that ruled.
