Match # 80: Randy Savage vs. Adrian Street (1/28/85)

So, we got the Macho Man character versus the gay guy gimmick. Both wear gawdy robes to the ring, but the Madness is the good guy. Go figure.

Russell starts off his call echoing the 1 fall 30 minutes by yelling “one-thirtyyyyyy”. Hilarious! Macho goes on the mic to rile up the crowd. They love him.

Savage is awesome running around popping the crowd while Street does his prancing stall routine. Highlights include Randy sitting at ringside wearing a guys hat, and then coming into the ring with a camera to take a picture of Street.

First 8 minutes is the Street stall followed by him getting the jump on Savage (who was chasing Miss Linda). It’s basically goofy kicks and prancing while Linda gets in loads of cheap shots. Savages comeback is awesome and he really beats the crap out of Street, even spanking him for whatever reason.

It gets interesting when Miss Linda turns her perfume bottle on Savage and they go to a pin. Savage gets him foot on the ropes. Hells yeah! Unfortunately for Savage every time he chases Miss Linda he gets caught. It ends in a count out which is a dull finish, but whatever. Savage was great and Street was there. 3 and 6/10.
