Match # 57: Fabulous Ones vs. The Moondogs (1/9/84)

We know the drill by now. Check the Memphis Diaries archives if you aren’t hip to this feud. The Fabs still want the Moondog’s blood. The Moondogs just want a fight. Lets get to it!

This starts out slow and technical; hold for hold. Who am I kidding? As Lance Russell says, welllll, a war just broke out!” Brawling all over the ring. Stan Lane gets a crutch away from the ‘dogs and Keirn uses a rope to choke them. One of the Moondogs gets posted and sent into the announcer’s table. Crazy stuff and the fans are really into this match. Moments later the Moondogs take control with weapons and a table is brought into the ring. This is real ECW before their ever was one. The Fabs get a belt, but they get pile driven.

Lane mounts a comeback and the Moondogs sell for the strong man. The Fabs run Jimmy Hart off for the time being. Then the Fabs run the Moondogs off with their own bones for a count out win. This was actually a satisfying finish for an appropriately short 8 minute intense brawl. These teams are great together. 3 ¼ and 6/10.
