Match # 39: Bill Dundee vs. Adrian Street, Miss Linda & Jim Cornette (Lumberjack Strap Match) (2/6/83)

Dundee pulled off a brilliant handicapped match earlier in the set against Wayne Farris and Tojo Yamamoto. This one would seem to be a bit more difficult, but might actually turn out more entertaining giving the two non-wrestlers in there. The stipulation might actually save this one instead of hinder it.

This is an arena match, though I’m not sure where it was taped. Cornette is hesitant and scared, just like you want him to be. Adrian Street plays his prancing pseudo-homosexual character to a ton of heat. Miss Linda is… the weak link here. Fun start with Ref Callhaun getting beaten by the lumberjacks when he runs away from an Adrian Street ass grab. Cornette and Linda get knocked off the apron and whipped, to the vocal crowds delight.

Dundee is all business once they lock up. He tosses out Street for a whipping pretty quickly. The lumberjacks don’t really go after Dundee, as they all look like faces (Taylor, Keirn, Lane), but Dundee gets taken out by the heels the minute he rolls back in.

Here’s my problem: The DVD stopped working correctly at this point of the match, and I was unable to finish it. Now, I feel bad about not being able to fully view one of the matches for the ballot, but the truth is there was no way this was going in my top 20-25 anyway. It just wasn’t that type of match in my opinion. Since this is an objective opinion poll, I’m going to go off of what I think I would rank the first half and what would be fair. 2 ½ and 5/10.
