I’m in the home stretch here with only two disks and roughly 30 matches to go. At times I look at this list and think “How the hell is that match ranked # 32 and this one ranked # 68? At that moment I’d try to compare them from memory and find them reasonably equal, or that I could flip them from moment to moment. When I’d look at the field I’d realize how razor thin some matches can be from others further down the list. Someone said at Death Valley Driver that while they were positive about their #1-25, that almost anything #25-75 could be debated or was roughly a half a star-rating in difference.

I completely agree. I think #75-120 would show an obvious step down as you moved through that section of rankings. #120-150, and everyone’s are different, are generally matches you could have done without watching.

Everything in my top 25 I see as being over 4 stars. You can debate whether everything top 5 is five stars for its era, or say one or two are while the others are 4 ¾ stars. It doesn’t matter to much. To show how strong the set is, and back up my statement above, I believe everything from # 25 to somewhere between #80-90 is above 3 stars. Some of it could be four stars or just below, and some of it is barely 3 stars, but everything in there has its place. This isw made even stronger by the fact that I have only watched and ranked 120 matches. That only leaves about 30 matches so far that I wouldn’t go out of my way to see.

I think this next disk will really throw things for a loop as it will be some of the strongest stuff. I also feel that reassessing my top 25 after this project will be very tough yet necessary, while anything post-25 isn’t worth splitting the hairs it would take to re-evaluate.
