Murdoch vs Reed 1 and 2 are the best compliment I can think of that I’ve seen in a while. I’m talking Flair-Steamboat ’89, Joe-Punk ’04, and maybe thrown in the Danielson-Morishima stuff from last year. Sandwiched in there is Reed completely redeeming himself with Flair in a much better paced and shorter match. Flair at 22-28 minutes is a thing of beauty, as noted, and another Flair match makes the top 25. I can’t move on without saying that while I don’t think Reed is the worker many do, you can’t deny his role in these three matches and his body of work in Mid South overall. He has my respect.

Actually this set was so good the famed Dibiase face turn was a mid-point on its own disk. Dibiase was amazing in carrying Sweetan, but they aren’t classics. Just more for my mark out session over Dibiase’s Mid South run. Fantasics are definitely becoming the disappointment of the set, and I must apologize to the RNRs for wondering who was better. Dick Slater was oddly enjoyable in a few matches on here, but maybe the biggest surprises was Hacksaw Duggan-Sawyer in a violent brawl. Wow, this set rules and this disk had three matches I rated well above 3 stars, and two over four stars.
