Damaging day for WWE

It was broken by FOX News Channel, but is now being corroborated by more credible sources, that between May 2006 and May 2007 Dr. Astin was prescribing Chris Benoit 10 months worth of steroids every 3 to four weeks. This also falls in the timeline of the supposed “clean” drug test, which would be “clean” if he had a prescription. So much for the WWE “Wellness policy”. i could link you to a million mainstream articles on this, but the story is put best by Dave Meltzer in his Daily Update. Though I really think concussions need to become more of a focus in the media (and the brain of Benoit may have been to damaged to prove what alot of us suspect), truly this shows the WWE needs reform and may need outside sources to regulate them as drugs are concerned. Won’t any of these mark wrestlers get some balls and unionize!?
Also, Zach Arnold of the great FightOpinion.com (The best MMA site for my money) has an amazing article up here here which takes the media and others to task over not caring until a tragedy of these proportions happens. Also, he talks about regulating wrestling, which has been systematically de-regulated by various state athletic commissions since 1989.
