WWE knew about Daniel Benoit’s Fragile X

Jerry McDevitt, WWE’s pitbull attorney, has been sent out for damage control after the early WWE face of P.R. head Gary Davis. He has shown to the A.P. that they were aware of Chris Benoit’s son’s illness and claims the Benoit’s were arguing leading up to the weekend. The article can be found here. It seems, and this is just my opinion, to be the new approach to get the media away from the idea of Benoit and steroids. As usual, this is a perfect depiction of the truth is somewhere in between. The WWE is paranoid that everyone will find out all there wrestlers are on the juice because… well, they are in many cases. But the media has gone overboard in trying to attribute the entire tragedy to “roid rage” no matter what, which is pretty much a stretch in and of itself in this case.

Also, Wade Keller has a good article on what the five main talking points should be coming out of this tragedy. Very well thought out article that I will admit (disclaimer!) is in line with my personal thinking on the situation.

- Also, an MSNBC 9pm run down is featured here. The brother of the man whose job it is to hire talent for the WWE was on advocating mandatory time off for wrestlers. You might know him as Road Warrior Animal, or the Legion of Doom or the Road Warriors. Joe Laurinaitis’ brother, John (known to many as Johnny Ace) is in charge of the WWE Talent Relations department and has been mandated by Vince McMahon (This comes by way of Dave Meltzer, Wade Keller, and every full time credible pro Wrestling reporter over the last 5 years) to only hired men over six foot two and 220 pounds. There are exceptions, but that is what he’s wanted.
