Closing out for what has to be considered the most terrible day in the history of wrestling, and at least on par with the days Owen Hart and Eddie G. died. Here’s how the day ended in terms of news and links.

First and foremost, I do not have authority to release the Torch or Figure Four Daily audio broadcasts. Those are the property of Wade Keller and Brian Alverez respectively, and I haven’t had time to ask their permission. But I would like everyone to listen to the Fight Network’s podcast of their radio show on Sirius Sat. Radio from Today. It featured Mauro Ranallo, John Pollock, and Bryan Alvarez discussing this tragedy.

Vince McMahon began tonight’s ECW broadcast on Sci-Fi with a sort of apology. He said that new facts have come out, and that Chris Benoit’s name will not be mentioned after that moment. Instead, tonight would be dedicated to “those effected by this tragedy” and that tonight would be “the first step in the healing process”.

This next note by way of the Wrestling Observer today:
“ESPN.com reported that Fayette County district attorney Scott Ballard indicated that Daniel Benoit had needle marks on his arm. Ballard said he believed David Benoit was being given human growth hormone by his parents because of concerns that the seven-year-old was undersized for his age.

ESPN.com also reported that Ballard confirmed one of two text messages Benoit sent claimed that his son and wife were “sick.” Here is a link to the story: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2917133

In perhaps an ironic twist, Canadian WWE fans, specifically in Edmonton and Calgary, will suffer for Benoit’s actions.

And Finally, Benoit’s infamous text messages were released by the WWE here. And the AP has an article on Benoit’s connect to a company under investigation for Steroid distribution, here.
