Before the show Ian Rotten gave a speech about the passing of Sherri Martel. Ian said that all the money in tonight’s raffle would be given to the friends and family of Sherri to help with funeral costs.

Right after the Sherri announcements, it was announced that Kamala could not make it to the show. The show may have benefited from this because the new main event was one hell of a match.

1) Mitch Ryder defeated Dustin Lillard with a powerbomb at the 6:57 mark. Lillard was over the top flamboyant with rainbow colored tights and doing greatly exaggerated struts in the ring.

2) In a 4 way match, Billy Roc earned a TPI spot when he pinned OMG at the 11:30 mark also defeating Mickie Knuckles and Ricochet. This was a decent 4 way that saw all of the participants hit dives. Mickie was doing almost all of the hard hitting strikes and strong style moves.

3) Jack Thriller submitted Jason Strife with the Figure 4 in 10:00 . Decent match. Thriller wasn’t as silly as he usually is, so that was a plus. Strife always seems to be solid and continued to look good do so here as well.

4) Jason Dukes defeated “Hype” Jimmy Shalwin at 6:47 , I believe with a moonsault. Short match with some comedy, not really much to write about.

5) TLC pinfalls count anywhere match: Diehard Dustin Lee & Scotty Vortekz defeated “Pretty Unreal” of Micheal Elgin & Ash at the 16:47 mark. This was a very good match. Every bit of action in this match was very brutal and exciting. I think everyone went thru a table at one point. This match was filled with hard chair shots and high impact table spots. The tables used in this match were shorter than usual tables used in wrestling, thus they didn’t break as easy. Arguably the most brutal spot in this match was when Elgin was on the ladder and Lee jumped off the top turnbuckle and gave Elgin a ddt onto a table. This table didn’t break and Elgin just smashed his face into it, that looked very painful. The finish ca me when both Lee & Vortkez came off the top rope at the same time and sent Ash thru a table with I believe a splash or legdrop form Lee and double knees to the chest from Vortekz. This was a great and brutal match where all 4 guys worked hard and took hard bumps and put their bodies on the line.

6) Josh Abercrombie pinned Joey Ryan at 11:58 with the Taliban Backpack. This match was pretty underwhelming as it never got serious. It was decently funny as both guys continuously worked over each others mustaches and giving snapmares to each other by pulling on the mustaches. After the match was over, Abercrombie was going to cut Ryan’s mustaches, but he just couldn’t do it, it was too beautiful of a mustache.

7) Drake Younger pins Roderick Strong with a rollup at 11:56 . This match was pretty good, but it did not get as heated as I had hoped. Drake came into the match with a huge gash going all the way across his right pectoral muscle. That isn’t good especially when you are in a match with Roderick Strong. The majority of this match was slow paced and methodical but also pretty brutal as Roderick and Drake each landed a good amount of hard chops. The match never really kicked into high gear but it was still solid, the ending came when Younger rolled up Strong as Roderick was trying to apply the Strong Hold.

8) IWA-MS World Heavyweight Title Match: Chuck Taylor retains after rolling up CJ Otis at the 17:27 . This was a very good match. Otis came out with a female that was Joey Eastman’s assistant since Eastman couldn’t be there. Before the match during Taylor ’s entrance, a young boy around the age of 5 went to give him a high five and Taylor just got ready to punch him and yelled and the kid started crying. This was absolutely hilarious. Everyone felt bad for the kid but no one could stop from laughing. Taylor later came back to the kid, but this time the kid was ready for him as the kid brought his fist back and started screaming at Chuck Taylor with an intense hate-filled look on his face. This was great. The match itself was very good with good back and forth action and good technical power moves from Otis including an exploder. There were lots of real good near falls and Taylor finally rolled up Otis for the win. Real good match.

9) Matt Sydal pins Human Tornado at 15:35 with a move I can best describe as like a package piledriver with Tornado behind him. This was a great match and was one of the best singles matches that I have ever seen from Matt Sydal. Sydal was very intense during the entire match. All around this match just had great action from both guys throughout and they both gave a hell of an effort. One thing that surprised me a lot in this match, was that Sydal was throwing Mirko Cro Cop like high kicks to the head of Tornado. Overall just great action to make a great match. After the match Ian offered Human Tornado a spot in the TPI and he accepted it.

After the show Ian made a nice gesture for Sherri’s family and said that there was $250 in the raffle, Ian sweetened the pot and said the whoever wins the raffle gets two free tickets to every IWA show this year. I thought this was a very nice move on Ian’s part.

Overall this was a very good show. The first half was kind of bad, but the second half more than made up for it, making it one of the best non-tournament shows in quite some time.
