While this Grace woman is clearly half retarded (My professional opinion, as unlike her I like to clarify things), Jericho does his best to walk her through the interview and make good points. If that’s not enough, Nancy finally learns what Four Horsemen and RAW are, and what demotion Benoit may or may not have [...]
Other then Jericho’s party line, and this is true of all wrestlers who privately will say they are the whores to promoters Pimps, which is to say he put over WWE’s drug testing and didn’t explain it’s multiple loopholes, Jericho was by far the best rep for wrestling all week (including Vince and Linda McMahon).
ESPN has some strong coverage from a human interest perspective. Links inside
After a week of good reporting for wrestling journalists and some hype and hysteria from lazy mainstream journalists, these next few links are having a better degree of research and progression from the simplistic “all wrestlers are crazy juice heads ands this one got drugged up and killed everybody” story. Media links inside.
I want to thank Brian Hansley for his coverage of TNA Impact this week. It’s a nice reminder that wrestling can be a positive escape for it’s fans still, and I’d like to promote the “love of the game” even if things must change within “the game”.
We have an AP article that will run in [...]
This is the big show TNA has been promoting since the tapings two weeks ago. I’m sure they were expecting or hoping to do a big number (relatively) but with this week’s events that might not be happening. Let’s see how it plays out.
Linda McMahon from Good Morning America Video. Her focus was Daniel Benoit’s illness.
Benoit’s doctor, interviewed by the press in the last few days, had his office raided last night. I think it’s safe to say there were warning signs in the doctors interview, as he talked about Benoit being in his office to “visit with his staff”, and yet they didn’t talk. So Benoit just hangs out [...]
Vince McMahon was on the Today Show this morning doing damage control. Video inside
I’d like to cap off tonights extensive coverage of whatever this tragedy has become with a thought from Wade Keller, editor and lead writer of the Pro Wrestling Torch. I didn’t clear taking this quote from his site - he has the right to sue me - but this once, I think he’ll agree the [...]
Fight Network Radio featuring Dave Meltzer and Bill Goldberg talking about reform in the wrestling industry in the aftermath of the Benoit Family tragedy. Right click on the link if you wish to save this for I-pod use.
You can see who posts almost everything on this site in the categories section above. I want to make it clear that this is posted by me, John Philapavage, owner and operator of this site, and my opinion does not reflect everyone else’s on the site. believe me, our staff is not shy, and [...]
Jerry McDevitt, WWE’s pitbull attorney, has been sent out for damage control after the early WWE face of P.R. head Gary Davis. He has shown to the A.P. that they were aware of Chris Benoit’s son’s illness and claims the Benoit’s were arguing leading up to the weekend.
Lets try to remember why we love wrestling.
former WWE Wrestler Chris Nowinski, who has become somewhat of an authority on concussions and their deadly effects in football, wrestling, and sports, comments on that possiblity in the Chris Benoit case in this article. Former husband of Nancy, Kevin Sullivan, also weighs in.
Myself and Brian Hansley have become entwined in another debate. I’d love to hear everyones feelings on the subject, and anything over the last week. It might help all of us heal a bit. Go to the link here, read my notes and link, then participate in the comments after reading Hansley and my point-counterpoints.
the [...]
There has been a link discovered between a Sports Illustrated article months back on a steroid bust, and Chris Benoit. Benoit was indeed one of the people listed as buying prescription drugs (along with Adam Copeland and Shane Helms). The new article with in-depth analysis can be found here.
NOTE: Months ago I wrote a [...]
This story is being posted not to sensationalize, but as a potential answer as to the questions of what pressures Nancy and Chris Benoit were facing that may have contributed to setting the stage for the tragedy of this past weekend. This is not meant as a reporting of an excuse. It is information that [...]
Closing out for what has to be considered the most terrible day in the history of wrestling, and at least on par with the days Owen Hart and Eddie G. died. Here’s how the day ended in terms of news and links.
