National Wrestling Alliance takes back their titles

As has been expected, the NWA and TNA has ended their five year relationship.
This announcement was made on Sunday, presumably before TNA’s Sacrifice PPV. The Executive Director behind the announcement sounds quite emotional, to say the least. NWA is taking back their World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Titles, while TNA looks to introduce their own TNA Titles (which will now be revealed via TNA’s daily web show “TNA Today” this week, in addition to subsequent episodes of Impact). TNA looks to likely take the smart move of going about their business without mentioning the title change.
Following this, there will be a tournament to crown the new NWA World Champion. Plenty of names - some of whom might be familiar to many WWE and/or indy wrestling fans, one of whom is a noted favorite of the site - have publicly stated their championship aspirations, and they can be seen here.
