Hogan - Lawler big Indy match OFF
Posted on April 12, 2007 by John Philapavage
The Hulk Hogan vs Jerry Lawler match which was to headline a show put on by Hogan in Memphis at a major (18,000 or so seating) arena is Off. and it looks like this time it’s not Hogan with a Mystery knee.
Dave Meltzer is reporting The Hogan vs Lawler Match is off. It seems the WWE told Lawler Monday that he couldn’t sdo it. Their reasoning, which is part of the Hogan/McMahon chest game, is listed in Meltzer’s story. Hogan will be taking on a less-fat Paul Wight, formerly known as the Big Show in WWE.
The story is also being reported locally in Memphis, on the station I believe has the wrestling TV deal for the promotion down there, but I’m not sure. It can be found here.

Seriously did people not see this coming?

I was somewhat surprised in that i thought this would go till about next Thursday, and it would be Hogan realizing that he’s only sold 4-6 thousand tickets after a week and it’s slowing down. I thought then his knee might start “acting up”. I considered once Lawler announced this, since he was talking about this for over a month, that the WWE was gonna sit back and go, “go ahead Hulk, you’ll fail under the weight of your own ego! A tour where only your allowed to get over won’t work.” What’s amazing is they are so insecure they can’t even let Hulk embaress himself on a level playing field.
