Night 2 of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s “All Star Weekend V” kicked off not with a bang, but with a snap. The top rope broke as Ronin came out for the first match. Hey, it’s the independents after all. Thanks to some repair work (transferring the bottom rope to top rope position) and some reconfiguring of the the card, the show eventually got under way for another big night of wrestling. Once again, results are gathered from the PWG message board.
1. Kevin Steen defeats Joey Ryan in a No DQ match following a package piledriver onto some steel chairs.
2. Ronin, TJ Perkins & Rocky Romero defeat Karl Anderson, NOSAWA & Lil’ Cholo. The Gauntlet Match was cancelled; no Frankie Kazarian listed.
3. Davey Richards defeats Chris Hero with a low blow followed by an armbar. Richards has apparently been showing off a mean streak recently… something expounded on later on in the night.
4. Colt Cabana & Top Gun Talwar defeat Disco Machine & Kikutaro after Cabana gave Disco a Colt 45.
5. Claudio Castagnoli defeats Alex Shelley following a rebound European Uppercut.
6. Kaz Hayashi defeats PAC with a spinning Tombstone/Final Cut combo.
7. Chris Bosh & Scott Lost vs. Roderick Strong & Jack Evans went to a No Contest when Davey Richards & Super Dragon (returning from an ankle injury) run in and attack both teams. History: Richards & Super Dragon held the PWG Tag Team Titles for about 8 months, winning them as a makeshift duo but developing into a badass tag team that would go on to main event the shows. They had a falling out in the fall, as both had found new partners to go after the titles with (Dragon had B-Boy, Richards had Strong), but it now seems the two are back together. Dragon is Richards’ mystery partner in next month’s tag team title tournament.
8. El Generico defeats the newly-heel Human Tornado (w/ punching bag valet Candice LaRae) with a half nelson suplex from the top and a brainbuster to retain the PWG World Title.
9. Samoa Joe defeats Low Ki with the Muscle Buster.
