Colt Cabana To Say Farewell To ROH
Tuesday, April 03, 2007

Colt Cabana has been a staple on ROH’s roster since December 2002. After a great run it is now time for Cabana to move on with his career. Cabana has signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. His final date with ROH will be the 4/28 event in Chicago, which will now be called “Good Times, Great Memories.” Cabana will also be on the 4/13 Long Island, 4/14 Edison and 4/27 St. Paul events (tickets now on sale for all these shows at www.ROHwrestling.com or by calling 215-781-2500).

“For the past four and a half years the only consistent thing in my life has been ROH,” Cabana said. “ROH has been my home and family. The Chicago show on April 28th is not going to be a farewell, but a celebration. We are going to celebrate how great ROH is and will continue to be. It’s not going to be a good bye, its going to be a “Seeya later”. Thanks for all the good time, and great memories!”

Cabana, a two time ROH Tag Team Champion with CM Punk, has given ROH fans countless great matches and entertaining moments. Cabana has done it all during the course of his ROH career. He has dominated the tag scene, been involved in classic title matches, put on some of the most entertaining bouts in ROH history and when it came time to fight it out Cabana was deadly serious. Cabana’s promos have been always been a highlight of ROH DVDs. Cabana’s contributions to ROH will be felt forever.

Cabana’s final ROH opponent will be Adam Pearce. Cabana requested Pearce due to their history in the business together. The issue between Cabana and Pearce started in ROH last weekend in Detroit. Cabana’s final ROH run looks like this:

-4/13 Long Island: Cabana vs. Delirious
-4/14 Edison: Cabana vs. Doug Williams
-4/27 St. Paul: Cabana & Homicide vs. Adam Pearce & Brent Albright Anything Goes Match
-4/28 Chicago: Cabana vs. Adam Pearce

Join us as we say goodbye to a ROH classic. We’ll have more on Cabana’s history in ROH soon on the main page of ROHwrestling.com.

BS: In my humble opinion, this is long overdue. The guy has some good wrestling skill and a great sense of humor, and combined with his good size (6′1 and a little over 230 lbs.), he should be a good fit for what WWE looks for (well, except for the bulging musculature). Whatever role WWE saddles him with, Cabana seems like the kind of guy who would run with it, no questions asked. His signing means that all of the male members of ROH’s Second City Saints stable - Cabana, CM Punk, and Ace Steel - are under WWE contract (with female roles in the past filled by Daffney and Traci Brooks).
